Carbon dioxide is chemically inert in the atmosphere, remaining as an
atmospheric gas for many years. The increased carbon dioxide component
of the atmosphere is accumulating at an increased rate (100 million tons
per day) increasing the greenhouse effect.

planet much of it enters the oceans causing increased ocean
